If you love Disney, you know how magical a Disneyland or Walt Disney World trip can be. They truly pull out all the stops to make each guest feel the magic of Disney at these parks. But throughout the year, Disney takes things up a notch and really pulls out all the stops to wow guests, and one of those times is Halloween.
While it may seem odd to talk about Halloween in the spring, it’s because these events sell out fast! Special events, especially at Halloween, often sell out months in advance. Some events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party held at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, are ticketed, so you have to plan ahead if you want to attend. The good news is that Disney does everything it can to make this event available for all guests coming to its parks, and its Halloween season usually runs from mid-August through October.
While Halloween and other holiday celebrations at Disney are magical, they are busy. Historically, October is one of the year’s busiest seasons at the Disney parks, so you have to plan ahead if that’s when you’re going. Luckily, if you’re willing to be flexible with your Halloween celebrations, September is typically a little slower, and Halloween celebrations are already in place if you want to go then!
But if you’d rather not fight the Halloween crowds, remember you have a third option: Halloween on the High Seas! This spooktacular experience is available on Disney Cruise trips from September to Halloween. It includes Mickey’s Mouse-querade, a fun character parade where all your favorite Disney friends show off their Halloween finery. There are also themed character meet and greets, and even more Halloween activities and treats for your family to enjoy. It’s a perfect way to enjoy the magic of Disney without having to fight through the crowds, wait in line, or snag tickets for special events. Plus, if you have young kids who get a little too scared, taking them back to your cabin for relaxation before heading back out to enjoy the Halloween revelry is easy. It’s a perfect Halloween situation for families with young kids!
